Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to play TOOY. Here is what the game does today and what we are working on.
In the game
- Reduced motion: a setting (on by default when your device asks for it) that removes screen shake and bouncy menu motion.
- Colour-blind safe: a setting that swaps team and danger colours for a palette that reads for every kind of colour blindness, with shapes and words beside the colours.
- Text size: menus can be made larger.
- Controls: every key can be changed; mouse and touch sensitivity can be set; aim assist on touch.
- Sound: separate volume for the game and the music; important moments such as FREEZE also show on screen.
- Languages: 55 languages, right to left where it should be.
On this website
The pages aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA: readable contrast, keyboard navigation, a skip link and text that scales.
Known gaps
A fast first-person game is hard to make fully accessible. Screen reader support covers the menus but not the match itself.
